What we check on every Solar & Battery firm
- Companies House record: legal name, number and status
- MCS certification for Solar PV, and for Battery storage where it applies
- How your deposit and guarantee are protected: membership of a consumer code such as RECC or HIES, or the MCS-approved financial protection that firms on MCS’s new installer scheme buy for their customers
- Public liability insurance: the amount and the expiry date
- How they design the DC side: where the DC isolators go and what they’re rated for, and connectors matched from the same maker (our Solar Safety guide explains why)
Every listing shows each check with the date we made it, and the firm's quote-check record: quotes checked, passed and red flags raised.
