Heat Pumps & biomassBoiler Upgrade Scheme
Money off replacing fossil-fuel heating with a Heat Pump or a biomass Boiler:
- £7,500 off an air-to-water, ground source or water source Heat Pump
- £9,000 off an air-to-water or ground source Heat Pump in eligible off-gas-grid homes, until 31 March 2027
- £2,500 off an air-to-air Heat Pump (homes only)
- £5,000 off a biomass Boiler, for rural homes off the gas grid
You must own the home and be replacing fossil-fuel heating. Most new builds and social housing don’t qualify. Your MCS-certified installer applies on your behalf.
It’s not for Solar. If anyone offers you “free Solar panels” on this grant, they’re selling you something else. See the scam patterns.
Where you live: England and Wales. In Scotland, Home Energy Scotland may offer an interest-free loan or a grant. In Northern Ireland, the Boiler Replacement Scheme is closed.

It runs until 31 December 2026, after a nine-month extension.
